The ocean is divided into different layers or zones. Each
zone has different conditions, such as light and temperature.
Conditions also vary between the ocean floor and the open
sea. Most animals live primarily in one zone and either near
the ocean floor or in the open sea and are adapted to conditions
in that habitat. Your job is to match the fish below with
their habitats.
Learn about the different habitats of the ocean and adaptations
of each fish by rolling your mouse over the names below.
Click and drag each fish into its correct habitat, choosing
the correct zone and either the ocean floor or the open
sea. Hint: Three of these fish live in various zones.
After you've placed all the fish in their habitats, click
"Continue" for the next part of the challenge.
