Want your browser to launch right into Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators when you start it up? Here's how to do it! (These directions are for Windows versions; Mac instructions might be a tad different!)
Netscape Navigator 2.0/2.01
Choose Options from the file menu
Choose General Preferences
Click on Appearance Tab
In the Start-up section look for line that says "Start with"
Choose the "Home Page Location" radio button
In the location box, type http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/
Choose OK
The next time you start up your browser, the start page will be changed!
Netscape Navigator 3.0/3.1
Choose Options from the file menu
Choose General Preferences
Click on Appearance Tab
Look for line that says "Browser starts with"
Choose "Home Page Location"
In the location box, type http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/
Choose OK
The next time you start up your browser, the start page will be changed!
Netscape Navigator 4.0 (Communicator)
Choose Edit from the file menu
Choose Preferences from the drop-down list.
Select Navigator from the Category menu
Find the section labeled "Home Page"
In the location box, type http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/
Choose OK
The next time you start up your browser, your start page will be changed!
Internet Explorer 3.0
First use your browser to go to http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/
Choose View from the file menu
Choose Options from the drop-down menu
Click on the Navigation tab
In the Page box, make sure that Start Page is selected
The URL of your current Start Page shows in the Address box
Since you are already at Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators, just click on Use Current to change the Start Page to the one you are currently on
Click OK
The next time you start up your browser, the start page will be changed!
Internet Explorer 4.0
First use your browser to go to http://discoveryschool.com/schrockguide/
Choose View from the file menu
Choose Internet Options from the drop-down menu
Click on the General tab
In the Home Page section, choose Use Current, and the new home page address will appear in the Address box
Click OK
The next time you start up your browser, the start page will be changed!
