Scapanorhynchus
Scapanorhynchusis an early member of the so-called goblin sharks, a name inspired by their greatly elongated snouts. This 110 million-year-old fossil form has been found on five continents, but closely related modern goblin sharks calledMitsukurinaare found only in the deep waters of tropical and temperate seas.
