DiscoverySchool's Puzzlemaker allows kids to make crossword puzzles online.

To create your word search puzzle, follow the steps below and click the "Create My Puzzle" button when you are done.

1Enter the title for your word search.

The title will appear at the top of your page.

2Enter the size of your word search puzzle.

Your puzzle can be up to 40 letters by 40 letters and still fit on one page. The optimum puzzle size is 15 letters by 15 letters.

3Select word search puzzle options.

4Choose puzzle output type.

Text
Choose the option if you plan on cutting and pasting the puzzle to a different application. Lowercase Text
Same as "Text" option, except letters are lowercase.

5Enter your words.

Separate your words with commas, spaces or type each word on a new line. Any character that is not a letter will be considered a space.

Choose a Topic, Choose a Subject, then Choose a Title. Word list will display in the Word List field. Copy and paste your words into the space above. Choose a Title:

6Check your puzzle.

Puzzlemaker uses a word filter to prevent the random creation of offensive words. After you create your puzzle, proofread it to carefully check for the placement of unintended words created by random letter combinations. You can regenerate your puzzle by selecting the "Recreate Puzzle" button on the puzzle display page.
