Downloading the free RealPlayer:
When you link to the RealMedia site, you'll see on-screen, step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing the free RealPlayer (as opposed to RealPlayer Plus, which is not free.) Just make sure that if you are using a PC, you pay attention to where you save the downloaded file.
At some point during the process, your computer will give you a "Save-As" dialogue box. Many people just click "OK" because they don't want to change the file name, not realizing that this box also lets you choose where to save the file. How many plug-ins have gotten lost this way, and are living out there somewhere with the socks that never made it home from the dryer?
We recommend saving the file to your desktop. With PCs you'll end up with an .exe file; with Macs you'll get an Installer icon. Either way, just click to install and use the default settings for where to put the RealPlayer.
