Ironically, the most cumbersome task given to students is performed at home rather than in school: studying. It is a huge assignment, one that only grows larger and more difficult as kids move up through the grades. Studying, regardless of the subject matter, requires organization, self discipline, and a plan. For the majority of students, this does not come naturally. Hours are wasted simply staring at old assignments—a strategy that really works only for kids with keen visual memories, leaving the remainder frustrated by a grade lower than they think they deserve. Yes, they put in time studying, but it wasn't effective studying.
