OFFERED ONLY IN THE UNITED STATES AND OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL U.S. RESIDENTS, 13 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR CLAIM PRIZE. Open to legal U.S. residents 13 years of age and older. Employees of Discovery Communications, Inc. (“Sponsor”), its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and members of the immediate families and persons living in the same household of such employees are not eligible. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law.
     
  2. TO ENTER: Beginning on April 1, 2002 you may enter DiscoverySchool.com's Software Monthly Drawing Sweepstakes online at http://school.discovery.com/parents/ by clicking on the the "Software Drawing" link to access the sweepstakes page. Complete the online entry form and submit so that it is received by Sponsor’s server by 11:59 PM Eastern Time by April 30, 2002 for the April sweepstakes, by May 31, 2002 for the May sweepstakes, by June 30, 2002 for the June sweepstakes, by July 31, 2002 for the July sweepstakes, by August 31, 2002 for the August sweepstakes and by September 30, 2002 for the September sweepstakes. There are six (6) sweepstakes in total. Limit one entry per person per sweepstakes/month.
     
  3. PRIZES: On or about May 1, 2002 for the April sweepstakes, June 1, 2002 for the May sweepstakes, July 1, 2002 for the June sweepstakes, August 1, 2002 for the July sweepstakes, September 1, 2002 for the August sweepstakes, and October 1, 2002 for the September sweepstakes, a winner will be randomly selected and contacted from all eligible e-mail entries for the preceding month. Sponsor will conduct a random drawing from among all eligible entries received to award the following prizes:

    (6) Prizes: For each monthly sweepstakes, an educational software program on CD-ROM, covering school skills such as reading, math, history, science, and music, for kids ranging in age from 1 to 15.

    Actual value will be determined by the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (“MSRP”) of the selected software program, which is estimated between: $19.95 and $34.95. Winners will be notified by email. Prize must be claimed within 7 days or the prize will be forfeited in its entirety. Odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible entries received, which is estimated at 400 per sweepstakes.
     
  4. GENERAL: Taxes on prizes and all expenses related to acceptance and use of prizes not specified are the sole responsibility of winners. By participating, entrants agree [a] to these rules and decisions of Sponsor which shall be final in all respects relating to this sweepstakes; and [b] to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and representatives and their respective officers, directors and employees from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind resulting from their participation in the sweepstakes or their acceptance, use or misuse of a prize. Winners agree to use of name and/or photograph for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in all media, including but not limited to on air and within Sponsor’s website, www.discovery.com, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) and agree to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. If a winner is not of the age of majority in state of residence, prizes will be awarded in the name of parent or legal guardian. Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, agents and representatives and their respective officers, directors and employees are not responsible for and shall not be liable for [a] electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind, including without limitation, server malfunction or by any human error which may occur in the processing of entries; [b] failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions; [c] lost, late, misdirected or incomplete entries or mail; or [d] any condition caused by events beyond the control of the Sponsor that may cause the promotion to be disrupted or corrupted. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel or suspend the sweepstakes or any portion thereof should viruses, bugs or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security or proper play of the promotion. In the event of a dispute, all e-mail entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the e-mail account from which they were sent. For these purposes, an e-mail account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such e-mail account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with such e-mail account. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an e-mail account shall be determined by Sponsor in its sole, reasonable discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the sweepstakes. Entry information becomes property of Sponsor. No prize transfer or cash redemption. No prize substitution except by Sponsor due to unavailability in which case a prize of comparable or greater value will be awarded. All federal, state and local regulations apply.
     
  5. WINNERS’ LIST: For a list of winners, mail a self-addressed, stamped envelope to be received by October 1, 2002, to Discovery Communications, Inc., ATTN: DiscoverySchool.com, 8045 Kennett Street, Silver Spring, MD, 20910.
