Moo Moo Moozart — Video Review
Rating: three and a half stars
The Bottom Line
Though the production quality is less polished than other videos of the same genre, the format of this video designed for babies and toddlers is much the same. Set to classical music (mostly Mozart), Moo Moo Moozart presents live-action animals, picture stills of famous landmarks, as well as a parade of toys and other sequences that will capture the interest of young children.

Moo Moo Moozart Product Overview
Moo Moo Moozart is yet another developmental video in the fast-growing world of videos designed specifically for babies and toddlers. Drawing upon research into the correlation between the music of Mozart and enhanced intelligence, this video resembles many on the market except that it features live animals in addition to toys and other images meant to grab the attention of the very young.

This video features similar visually interesting toys and objects that you will find in videos like Baby Mozart and Baby Bach. Moo Moo Moozart adds live-action animals — gorillas, polar bears, tigers, and more — as well as famous landmarks and other images such as a painting of the Mona Lisa and a picture of the Statue of Liberty into the mix. However, the production standards are not as high, resulting in a slightly less polished video than the Baby Einstein video series.

The visuals include the Moo Moo cow puppet, visually interesting objects that catch the eye and spin around, a toy xylophone, lots of battery-operated stuffed animals, a silver ball pendulum, a toy train moving down a spiraling track, a toy bowling set, and a simple board puzzle featuring farm animals. At one point, the video had me wondering if they had run out of objects to use because of repetition of certain sequences. However, some babies and toddlers will appreciate seeing these same toys again.

Some may question whether videos designed for babies and toddlers are in fact encouraging kids to be glued to the television at an early stage. However, if treated properly, a scripted cast of audios and visuals can be enjoyable for parents to use with their young children. Parents can make the experience an interactive one by talking about what they see on the screen with their kids.
