Dr. Tej Shrestha 
Aquatic Ecology Expert

Dr. Tej Kuman Shrestha has worked as a zoologist in Nepal for more than 30 years and has a wide range of experience in various fields of aquatic ecology, environmental impact assessment, wetland ecology, wildlife ecology, fishery biology, natural resource management, to name a few. He is a member of the specialist groups of the Species Survival Commission of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Tej has participated in various international seminars and conferences on wetland ecology and is the author of fifteen books on wildlife and natural resource management.

Career Path: Shrestha earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry from Tri-Chandra College in Nepal. Next, he attended Tribhuvan University for his master’s degree in zoology and his doctorate in fisheries. Shrestha earned his fourth degree recently: a degree in wildlife studies from Bhopal University, India.
