Dr. Anne Savage is a conservation biologist at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. This center applies the latest in technology to study wild animal behavior, particularly communication and reproduction. Anne works closely with many endangered species, particularly elephants, cotton-top tamarin monkeys, and sea turtles. She also teaches classes for the Department of Zoology at the University of Florida and the Department of Biology at the University of Central Florida.
Career Path: Anne earned both her bachelor's degree and doctorate from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. She has served as director of research at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in Rhode Island and earned numerous grants for her studies of animal behavior and conservation. Although Anne studies all animals, she does have a few favorites. Primates hold a special place in her heart, from tiny marmosets to huge gorillas.
