Carol Inskipp
Bird Specialist & Author

Carol Inskipp is an ecologist who works as an environmental education consultant in London, England. She writes educational materials for students and teachers and conducts educational research. Carol is an expert on the birds of the Himalayas and an avid birder. Working with her ornithologist husband Tim Inskipp and others, she has carried out numerous bird surveys in Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar. She has co-authored several important field guides on the birds of the Indian subcontinent, including Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.

Career Path: Carol earned her master’s in ecology from the University of Durham in England. She found the ideal way to blend her talents as a writer, educator, and birder: the production of field guides. For the inexperienced birder, Carol is a wonderful teacher. She patiently helps her students hear the bird’s song, see its colors, and find its image in the guidebook.
